What skillsets have I learnt?
Unit 1 and 2
In unit 1 and 2 I learnt how to use a mixing desk, how to set up a three-way sound system for live sound, how to set up monitors, how to mic up a drum kit, how to soundcheck, the different types of microphones and cables.
These skillsets are useful for live performance and recording.
Unit 3 and 4
In unit 3 and 4 I learnt how to use Logic Pro X, how to use foley recordings in a track, how to chop up sounds, how record labels work and how copyright law and publishing works.
These skillsets are useful for working in the music industry and recording/producing music.
Unit 5 and 6
In unit 5 and 6 I learnt how to use synthesizers, how to make different sounds in synths, how to chop up samples and how to problem solve live on stage.
These skillsets are useful for live performance and producing music.
Blog portfolio
First Track
I used foley recordings for this track and chopped up those recordings. I liked manipulating the recordings to make a track and arranging which recording goes where.
Second Track
I only used logics synth for this track and learnt how to make a drum kit on a synth. I liked the challenge of making a track only using a synth and fine tuning sounds in the synth.
Third Track
I only used samples in this track and manipulated them in logic. I Liked trying to find the right sample and changing the pitch of the sample.
